According to the SA Schools Act the parents are in control of the school! That is why there are a number of parents who are in some way or another part of the structure of the school management:

Governing Body
Financial Committee
Facilities Committee
Hostel Committee
and the chairpersons of the Parents’ Committees

But is not only the parents that are involved in these bodies. The school also co-opt knowledgeable parents on these committees to improve the efficiency of the management.

The Governing Body has the actual responsibility to manage the school, but it is the Parents’ Committees that work hardest to generate funds for the school. All of these funds are paid into the Welkom-Gimansium Trust and at the end of the year all profits are paid over to the school fund.

Volgens die SA Skolewet is die ouers in beheer van die skool! Daarom is daar ‘n klomp ouers wat, op een of ander manier, deel vorm van die strukture van die skool:

Beheerliggaam
Finansiële Komitee
Fasiliteite Komitee
Koshuiskomitee
en die Voorsitters van die Ouerkomitee

… maar dit is nie net verkose ouers wat op hierdie rade dien nie! Die skool koöpteer kundige ouers op van die komitees om sodoende die effektiwiteit van die beheer te verbeter. Die Beheerliggaam het die eintlike verantwoordelikheid om die skool te beheer, maar dis die Ouerkomitees wat die hardste werk om fondse vir die skool in te samel! Al hierdie fondse word by die Welkom-Gimnasium Trust inbetaal en aan die einde van die finansiële jaar word alle winste aan die skoolfonds oorbetaal!
